St. Patrick's Day Baby

Here's what we figure every baby born on St. Patrick's Day needs: a great Irish nickname, a green outfit, and a cute smile. Dallin provided the nickname (O'Riley); Nana provided the outfit (which Aimee has been instructed to use only for Owen and save for him); and he's providing the smiles already.

Nashville, Indiana

Nashville, Indiana, is a town about 20 miles away from Bloomington. We went there with Aimee's parents while they were here last weekend. We had a lot of fun walking, shopping, eating, and really enjoying the beautiful weather.

Park Play

Looking at these pictures, you might think that all Luke likes to do at the park is eat, play in the dirt, and watch other people. While he does like to do all those things, he also enjoys other, more typical park play, such as sliding, swinging and climbing. We just haven't taken any pictures of him doing those things yet.

Springtime

Now that the weather is nice a lot Luke loves to go outside. Not a day goes by that he doesn't bring either Aimee or Dallin his shoes. And he's not very happy when one of us puts shoes on without including him.
He's discovered that throwing the ball outside is a lot of fun, too. Unfortunately, he really likes to throw them out into the street and watch Aimee chase them. We're working on stopping that.

Aimee has Luke play out on the balcony sometimes when she's doing dishes or making dinner, and for some reason Luke really loves to throw toys out into the grass below. We're trying to figure out if it's the toys that he likes or the ones he doesn't like that get tossed.

Luke also loves the stroller; he's figured out that when it gets pulled out we're going on a walk. He doesn't like it so much when we put Owen in the stroller and have him walk, which is why we expedited the double stroller purchase. He's also started to like to push it around himself.

This was the result of one of Luke's first major faceplants. He was on a cement porch with one of our neighbors, who is about a year older than him, and he got jostled off the edge. It was a surface scrape so it didn't bleed very much at all but it did look pretty painful. He's had bumps and bruises before, but this one was the first big scratch.
