Chickens, Turkeys and Ducks, Oh My

Dallin's sister, Talara, got some baby chickens, turkeys and ducks. Luke was pretty excited to see them and hold them, too. You can only see half of his face in these first two pictures, but you can tell how excited he is.

Luke kept on picking up the ducks and carrying back to the house. But it was very hot inside and Talara had let them out to cool off a little. She keeps on telling him that in the two videos below.

We got one picture of Luke looking at the camera and one of Dallin looking at the camera, but none with both looking.

Wonderlab

Wonderlab is a fun science museum in Bloomington. We took a few pictures there recently.

This dinosaur tells you your height if you stand still for a few seconds. When you first stand under it, it says something like "Please stand still." Luke loves to stand by the dinosaur, but when it talks he freaks out and runs away.

There are a few different "ball maze" type things that both Luke and Owen love to play with.

Memorial Hall Basketball

Owen's favorite things to do: crawl, sit, and smile.

Luke's favorite things to do: shoot a ball and watch other people shoot a ball (while holding a ball in his arms).

Around The House

Luke and Owen laughing together.

One night Luke seemed to be a little more tired, so we put him to bed first and left Owen downstairs playing. We came down to find Owen "sleep-playing" and determined that he must have been just as tired but has figured out that if he doesn't act like he's tired then he doesn't have to go to bed.

We set up a new bed for Luke recently. He had been sleeping on the mattress on the floor, but when we found a box spring for a good price (free!) we decided to set up the bed.

We also got a new porch! (Dallin hates to call it a porch - he prefers "glorified front step"). It was annoying when they put up the wood frame and then left it for a week for us to have to step over, but it was cool that we were home when they poured the concrete and we got to watch it.

Easter 2009

Aimee and Jill in their new Easter dresses.

Easter egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

One of Luke's masterpieces. 90% of the time he gets the ceiling or his own hair, so when he gets a decent on it's pretty impressive.

About 1/2 a second earlier this was a great scene - Luke and Owen were hugging and happy. Then they bonked heads and this is what we caught on film.

Random Stuff

This is Owen doing something that he really loves - pulling movies off the shelf. What a great smile over the back!

When Aimee saw Owen doing that, she had a "deja-vu" moment, and went back to find this picture of Luke doing the exact same thing! It was in September 2007, when Luke was 9 months old.

Another smile from Owen.

A very colorful dinner!
Luke is a great singer. A few months ago he started picking up the words to songs really well. He can sing pretty much all of the nursery songs - Popcorn Popping, The Wise Man, Book of Mormon Stories, If You're Happy, I Love to See the Temple, I Am Like a Star, I am a Child of God and Follow the Prophet. Plus a few other random songs that we sing - You've Got a Friend in Me, Wheels on the Bus, Itsy Bitsy Spider, etc. We've been trying to record him, but he's usually not very cooperative. He usually prefers to take pictures himself. He almost finishes the ABCs in this video, and we missed the first few letters, but what he does sing is pretty good, we think.

This is our new car, Toby. It's a Camry. We're not sure which is better - having a new car or not having to shop for a new car anymore!

Farm Stuff

At first Luke wouldn't get on the tractors at all. But then Dallin convinced him to get on one and he was hooked!

Kicking a soccer ball.

Again, at first he wouldn't ride the go-kart. And again, after the first time he was hooked. The first day he kept calling it the "shopping cart."

Owen was a little slow to start crawling, but he's got the hang of it now. We hear many more cries of "No, Owen, no!" in our house now. Luke is learning to take his toys to the table if he wants to play unhindered.

"Hit The Ball!"

One of Luke's favorite things to do these days is "hit the ball," ie, play baseball or tee ball or anything else with a bat and ball. Although it shouldn't really be called "hit the ball" since he doesn't that often.

Great face!

In this session he hit the ball the very first time, which we didn't catch on video, and then spent the rest of the time missing it.

The next time we tried tee ball, which was a little more successful.

At The Park

At the park with Aimee's sisters, Jill and Lettie, and our neighbor, Joseph. Aimee's mom and sister (Lettie) came to visit us during their spring break a few weeks ago.
